![]() Jason BlatterJason Blatter ’05 from Danville, Calif. was determined to work with Goldman Sachs, a prominent global investment banking firm recently ranked by Fortune Magazine as the 26th best company to work for worldwide. Armed with a business management degree from UVSC, Blatter contacted Goldman’s recruiting team, and continued to follow-up with them until he eventually landed a phone interview for a shot at their summer internship program in New York City. After two more interviews, Blatter was offered a position in their summer program. "I was always interested in working at Goldman because I knew of its reputation,” he said. “Being a summer intern in New York was great. I had a chance to work on the stock exchange floor and network with professionals at the firm." Although Goldman Sachs is known for recruiting graduates from the top business schools in the country, Blatter impressed Goldman Sachs with his communication skills and knowledge of the market. As the summer came to a close, Blatter was voted Mr. Congeniality out of the 1,000 analysts at his firm, and was later offered a full-time position in Goldman’s prime brokerage division in San Francisco, Calif. "UVSC teaches a team attitude where many of the projects are done in groups,” he said. “That is how it is in the business world where in order to get jobs done, you must work as a team. UVSC taught me to trust my classmates and work together to be successful.” |
