Brett Hall

Last year, Springville native Brett Hall ’05 wrapped up
a summer internship near San Francisco as field engineer of a $135 million project with Hensel Phelps, one of the largest domestic contractors in the nation before returning to UVSC to complete his bachelor’s degree in technology management with a construction management emphasis last December. Now he’s assistant superintendent for the fifth-largest homebuilder in Utah, Hamlet Homes.

“I just love construction,” Hall said. “I was brought up in it. It is hard work, but I like the challenge.”

Two weeks before graduation, Hall landed the position with Hamlet Homes. Now Hall helps coordinate Bear Hollow, a 150-townhome project in Park City, Utah. Hall ensures the construction is on schedule and built according to specifications and quality. After the home passes inspection, Hall walks each homeowner through before handing over the keys.

Hall credits his degree from UVSC for helping him get the position with Hamlet Homes. And it was worth the effort. “College was tough,” he said. “But when you are done you know you can do anything.”
