UVSC has nearly 600 international students from 70 countries. In an attempt to bring global diversity to the Utah Valley community, The International Center at UVSC is starting the Adopt an International Student program.
Adopt an International Student is open ended, lasting as long as both parties want. Families start by befriending a student, having them to dinner, Thanksgiving, taking them out to a movie, etc.
“This is a great opportunity for families in the community and international students to learn from each other and for community members to give these students a “family” while the students are in school,” said Steve Crook, assistant director of international studies.
To participate, applications can be downloaded at www.uvsc.edu/international.
