Mo Rocca to Speak at McKay Events Center

Is Utah ready to Rocca? Television and radio personality Mo Rocca is coming to the McKay Events Center February 6 at 7 p.m., where he will give a speech titled, “Behind the 2008 Election Scenes.”

Rocca works as a correspondent for NBC’s “Tonight Show,” covering the 2008 presidential elections. He followed the 2004 presidential elections as a correspondent for Larry King. Rocca is also a regular panelist on the NPR program, “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” and a frequent celebrity commentator on VH1 specials such as “I Love the 80s.” He was also a correspondent on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” from 1998 to 2003.

The event is hosted by UVSC’s student government. “We’re pleased to have Mo come speak about the upcoming 2008 elections and about how students can be involved in them,” said Joseph Watkins, vice president of academics for ASUVSC. “Students have a political voice. They are heard and can make a difference, and it’s exciting to get our students involved.”

Tickets are available January 2. Free tickets are available to UVSC students at Campus Connection. Members of the public interested in attending the event can purchase tickets for $10 at the McKay Events Center Ticket Office, 1-801-863-SHOW, or at SmithTix.
