Wasatch Campus Presents "Rally Around Reading"

Wasatch campus is holding its second annual Reading Conference Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for the event starts at 8:30 a.m.

The purpose of the event is to help improve reading tests scores and is targeted at parent attendees to receive additional information and training about encouraging reading with their children.

There will be a keynote speaker and two break out speakers, along with a book fair going on all day. All books at the conference are 50% off.

The keynote speaker is Lynne Greenwood. She will be speaking in room 204 from 9 to 10 a.m. Mary Beth Clark, Rebekah Belnap, Tamera Baker, Nancy Livingston, Sharon Lay and Claire Mair will be speaking in the conference from 10:15-11:15 a.m. and then again from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. From 12:45-1:45 S.T.A.R. Reading Training will be held and speaker Sue Okroy along with Mark and Linda Marriott will be in room 204. Spanish S.T.A.R. Reading Training by Linda Turner will be downstairs in the lobby.

“This is a great event for parents to attend, last year was a success and we hope for another bright turnout,” said Adrienne Sumsion, academic advisor at Wasatch. “It’s great for parents to learn additional information for their kids to help make reading fun for them.”

The cost for the event is $10.
