Utah Valley State College Wasatch Campus is sponsoring a conference to help parents protect youth, and youth protect themselves, from the dangers youth face. The conference, “Crossing the Line – What is Threatening our Kids?,” will take place Sept. 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. on the Wasatch Campus in Heber City, Utah.
“It’s an opportunity for parents and teens to learn about the dangers facing our youth today,” said Adrienne Sumsion, academic advisor for Wasatch Campus. “The conference will focus on strategies to protect teens against the dangers of the Internet, pornography, dating violence and more.”
Judge Mary Noonan of the Fourth District Juvenile Court, will be the keynote speaker. Breakout sessions will include lectures by experts, as well as panel discussions with youth talking about their experiences with these different issues.
“This will be a valuable experience for the community,” Sumsion said. “UVSC Wasatch Campus is excited to be part of this event and help educate parents and keep youth safe.”
The event is free to the public.
