Board of Trustees Names New Chair and Vice-Chair
In July 2005, four members of the Utah Valley State College’s Board of Trustees membership expired, leaving four vacancies, including the positions of chair and vice-chair. Governor John Huntsman, Jr. has since appointed four new members and recently, the Board has announced its new chair and vice-chair, Dan Campbell and Janette Beckham, respectively.
“Dan and Janette provide a great leadership team for UVSC,” UVSC President William A. Sederburg said. “Their experience in the community and in higher education is invaluable in helping guide the College.”
Prior to Campbell’s appointment to the Board of Trustees in 2001 by then-Governor Michael Leavitt, he served on the UVSC Foundation Board, where he served as the chair of the finance committee. Campbell has extensive business experience, including experience as partner at Price Waterhouse and serving as chief financial officer for WordPerfect. He is a current partner with EsNet which manages properties and investments such as the Shops at Riverwoods.
Beckham, who joined the board in 2004, has extensive community and ecclesiastical experience, which includes serving as the General Young Women’s President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and membership in the Utah
State Legislature. Additionally Beckham has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Brigham Young University and president of the Provo Literary League.
“Our trustees provide a mechanism for public input and review of our actions at the college,” President Sederburg said. “Our new trustees and leaders will continue the tradition of UVSC meeting community needs.”
Other UVSC Board of Trustee members include Karen Acerson, Timothy Clark, Ron Dallin, Tom Heal, Carolyn Merrill, Doyle Mortimer, Michael Mower, Jared Sumsion and B.J. Wright.
