UVSC High School Concurrent Enrollment Open House
OREM, Utah—The UVSC High School Concurrent Enrollment program will host an open house on Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 from 6-8 PM at the Mountainland Applied Technology College building at 987 South Geneva Road in Orem. Parents and students will be able to meet with representatives from their high schools and UVSC to learn about the benefits of taking UVSC Concurrent Enrollment classes.
Concurrent enrollment allows high school students to take college-level classes at their respective high schools that count for both high school and college credit. Students can get a head start on their college education for a small fraction of the cost of college tuition. Some students even earn their associate’s degree before high school graduation, which can bring a sizable state scholarship.
“Now is the time for high school students to optimize their high school experience. Current UVSC Concurrent Enrollment students should come to the open house and see the many additional services offered through UVSC,” said Adrienne Sumsion of the UVSC Concurrent Enrollment office.
Parents and students who attend the open house will find information on scholarships, financial aid, academic advising, distance education, and tutoring. Prizes, including tickets for the best seats available to the Jesse McCartney concert in September, will be given away at the open house both nights.
