New Club is Chartered at UVSC
Students for a democratic Society (SDS) is the newest club at Utah Valley State College. The purpose of the SDS club is to encourage students and the community to get involved in the political process and help them feel comfortable contributing to democracy locally and nationally.
The SDS club invites students and members of the community to attend meetings and share ideas regarding things they wish to see the club work on and accomplish.
Regular meetings will be held to discuss efficient ways to involve students and community members in decisions, policies and laws of society as well as encourage others to be informed voters and contribute to democracy.
“We look forward to working with the Utah County Democrats and other organizations in the community,” said Aaron Wood, President of SDS. “We will strive to serve others at UVSC and in the community.”
SDS will release research findings, statements and opinions on current matters to the community and students from time to time as well as invite guest speakers and coordinate events on campus.
