The Utah Valley State College Center for Service and Learning will hold their annual clothing thrift sale to raise funds for the Utah Family Support and Treatment Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 16-17, in the UVSC Hall of Flags.
"The exciting thing about this event is that it is completely student driven," said Alexis Palmer, coordinator for the UVSC Center for Service and Learning. "The student leaders decide on a local non-profit organization with desperate financial needs and then organize the entire sale." Laura Kern from Orem, Utah, and Dane Ehler from Orangeville, Utah, are the student leaders of the thrift sale this year. The annual event started in 1999 and was originally organized by the student government. Each year the students consult with United Way of Utah to choose the non-profit organization.
Clothes may be donated at the UVSC Sorenson Student Center SC 101.
