UVSC Alumni Association Announces Endowed Scholarship

The Utah Valley State College Alumni Association has established the Alumni Family Endowed Scholarships that will be given to two children of UVSC alumni from proceeds raised at the annual UVSC Alumni Classic golf tournament.

Interest accumulated from the $100,000 endowment will generate enough funding for the two scholarships each year, which will provide full tuition and fees for the students. The scholarships are intended for continuing students entering their junior or senior year and have been established in an effort to connect alumni parents to the College by giving their children the opportunity to be successful while attending school.

“The Alumni Association is dedicated to helping students reach their educational goals,” said Jeri Allphin, director of alumni relations. “The Alumni Classic Golf Tournament was a major success and we are planning to add more scholarships as we continue to raise funds. There are so many ways to give and we hope to get more alumni involved.”

While this is the first endowed scholarship sponsored by the Alumni Association, it contributes to approximately 20 other scholarships including the Student Leadership Alumni Scholarship, the Student-to-Student Scholarships and the Sequel Magazine Scholarship. Students can apply using the scholarship application forms available online. Prospective recipients must be the son or daughter of a UVSC graduate, be a junior or senior and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Students with the highest GPAs will be considered.
