Kurt Bestor gives Christmas Benefit Concert

Kurt Bestor, the Emmy award-winning pianist, will perform his annual Christmas concert November 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the McKay Events Center. Proceeds from the concert, sponsored by the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, will be used to fund student scholarships in the performing arts and assist in raising awareness of the proposed Performing Arts Center on campus.

“With his full orchestra backing him up, Bestor will be a fabulous beginning to a holiday season,” said Nancy Cannon, counselor of TRiO Student Services Support at UVSC and organizer of the event. “Adding to the excitement, Central Utah Cancer Center has purchased 2,500 tickets. The majority of tickets have been distributed to the Center’s cancer survivors and their support people. Mr. Bestor will be acknowledging them in a special tribute number.”

The cancer survivors were presented a ticket as a gift from their Central Utah Cancer Center doctors and given the opportunity to purchase more for their support people at a reduced fee.

“We want to celebrate with the cancer survivors,” said Pam Mendenhall, Central Utah Clinic public relations director. “Our cancer physicians want this to be a celebration of life, relationships and the upcoming holidays.”

Tickets are available at the McKay Events Center ticket office, (801) 863-SHOW or www.smithstix.com. For further information visit www.kurtbestor.com or contact Nancy Cannon at (801) 863-8844.
