Sen. Orrin Hatch to Speak at UVSC on Ethics

Sen. Orrin Hatch will visit Utah Valley State College to talk about judicial nominations and Senate ethics, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at UVSC Centre Stage in the Sorensen Student Center.

Hatch is the third invited speaker at the Money in Politics Discussion Series co-sponsored by the UVSC Center for the Study of Ethics and the Utah Students for Clean Elections.
Hatch was elected to the United States Senate in 1976. Among various Senate committee assignments, he is the Ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee. A senator for many years, Hatch has witnessed numerous ethical challenges.

"Currently, there are inherent ethical concerns related to the Senate's increase in partisan voting," said Amanda Peterson, Ethic's Center executive program coordinator. "We will all benefit from Senator Hatch's insights and experiences with government ethics."

The lecture is free and open to the public. As time allows, a brief question and answer period will follow the speaker.
