UVSC Culinary Arts Students & Faculty Recognized
Three Utah Valley State College culinary arts instructors were recently recognized by their peers and given awards at the annual American Culinary Federation (ACF) President’s dinner.
Troy Wilson and Diana Fallis, each UVSC culinary arts instructors, received awards from Beehive Chefs Chapter of Utah. Chef Wilson, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America was awarded “Chef of the Year” and Chef Fallis, a graduate of the UVSC culinary arts program was awarded “Professional of the Year.”
Judy Morgan, a recent alumna from the program and breakfast chef at the Provo Marriot was also awarded “Junior Member of the Year” from the Beehive association.
In a cold food competition sanctioned by the ACF at the dinner, five UVSC culinary arts students competed against students from Idaho and Salt Lake. All five UVSC competitors received either a bronze or silver medal.
“These awards show the professionalism and exceptional training that students receive in the culinary arts department at UVSC,” said Connie Bullock, UVSC catering manager and instructor. “These students and instructors competed against many talented chefs and represented UVSC’s culinary arts department very well.”
