UVSC Announces Fall Service Fair

The Utah Valley State College Center for Service and Learning has announced the Fall Service Fair, which will be held Sept. 21 and 22 in the Hall of Flags. The Fair, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is an occasion for students to find ways to serve and for agencies to recruit UVSC students.

“It’s a chance for students to open their eyes to opportunities for service in their community,” said Alexis Palmer, coordinator of the Center for Service and Learning. “Service is required for some classes and many students seek out ways to serve on their own. The Fair is one way we can make them aware of volunteer opportunities.”

Agencies in attendance will include the Provo Library, Community Action Services, Habitat for Humanity, Hispanic Outreach/After School Programs, Mountain Valley Red Cross, Girl Scouts of America and others. Students will be able to go from booth to booth to learn more about each organization. There are still spots open for agencies that would like to have a display table at the fair. For more information, contact the Center for Service and Learning at 863-8786 or volunteer@uvsc.edu by Friday, September 16.
