UVSC Presents Executive Lecture Series for Business Students Professionals
The Utah Valley State College School of Business has announced its Fall 2005 Reed and Christine Halladay Executive Lecture Series, held every Thursday at 12 p.m. in the Ragan Theater. The department invites business leaders and entrepreneurs to speak, giving students the opportunity to learn from people who are recognized as very successful in the business world.
“It is a great experience for the students and the speakers,” Department Chair Doug Miller said. “It also gives us a chance to show the speakers the caliber of students we have at UVSC. Many of the visiting speakers stay involved with our program, as members of our advisory board and collaborators on research with our faculty.”
The series was started five years ago from an endowment made by Reed and Christine Halladay and has since become a favorite among students. Reed is a member of the School of Business advisory board and is a successful investor and managing director of Bel Aire Investment Advisors in California. Christine graduated from Brigham Young University and taught at Orem High School for seven years.
“The students enjoy the lecture series because they are learning from people who are currently in business having great success,” Miller said.
