Award Winning Documentary to Show on Campus
The Integrated Studies Program at Utah Valley State College will present the documentary, “What the Bleep do We Know!?” on November 17 at 7 p.m. in room 404 of the Computer Sciences and Engineering building as part of UVSC’s Reel Film Series.
“What the Bleep do We Know!?” is a narrative documentary that explores ideas about philosophy, science and sociology, woven together to examine the inner workings of the brain to describe human consciousness. The film focuses on the life of Amanda, played by Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin, who goes through several chaotic experiences and discovers deeper knowledge that most do not realize exist. The film includes commentary by 14 scientists and mystics, who emphasize the interconnectedness of all things.
“This film challenges our notions of the concept of reality and asks us to reinterpret our experiences, always allowing for the precepts and experiences of others,” said Nancy Rushforth, associate professor of humanities.
Dr. Bill Evenson, an internationally known physicist and associate dean of science and health at UVSC, will introduce the film and conduct a question and answer session following the film.
