UVSC Men’s Lacrosse Club to Compete at Nationals

The Utah Valley State men’s lacrosse club will compete in the MDIA National Championships May 12-14 in Blaine, Minn. after beating Montana State April 28 to earn the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference Division B Championship.

Coach Kevin Perkins said the Wolverines are excited to represent UVSC at a national level and are prepared for the challenge. “This UVSC squad definitely has the talent and heart needed to win the national championship,” he said.

The Wolverines went 15-1 this season, undefeated in their division and 9-0 on the road, beating teams such as Utah State, Texas Arlington and Montana State by an average of 10 points.
The UVSC club, which consists of three senior all-Americans and two top-10 Division B scorers, also dedicated their championship run to a former teammate, Dave Preston, who passed away last month.

The Wolverines will play Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Mich.) in the first round competition. If they beat Calvin College they will play the winner of Davidson College (Davidson, N.C.) and Harding University (Searcy, Ark.) for the championship.
