FBI Supervisor to Speak at UVSC on Technology Fraud

FBI supervisor, Mike Anderson, will visit Utah Valley State College to address topics such as mortgage fraud, dangerous investment schemes and identity theft on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the Computer Science Building Room 404.

Anderson is an expert in white-collar crime. His lecture will cover current fraud issues relating to technology and will provide valuable solutions to avoid fraud situations. The lecture is free and open to the public and will conclude with a question and answer session.

"Supervisor Anderson will address everyday issues including identity theft," said Amanda Peterson, executive program coordinator for the UVSC Center for the Study of Ethics and integrated studies program. "His ideas are useful, not just to students, but to the whole community and can help make those in attendance become better members of society."

Anderson's lecture is part of the "Ethics in the Digital Age" Lecture Series sponsored by the UVSC Center for the Study of Ethics and the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Lectures from the series are on the first Tuesday of every month at the same time and in the same room.

"We want our students and the community to receive a broad education," said Peterson. "Education does not begin and end in the classroom."
