“Santa’s Workshop” to Premiere at UVSC

The Utah Valley State College Theatrical Arts for Stage and Screen Department presents “Santa’s Workshop,” a new play written by James Arrington, assistant professor in the Department of Theatrical Arts for Stage and Screen, and his wife Lisa. “Santa’s Workshop” will premiere December 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. in the Ragan Theater.

The production is a 55-minute play set at the North Pole. The elves have to save Christmas when Santa decides to retire. All characters, such as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the elves will be played by UVSC students as well as three children from Salem, Utah; Braden, Chantell and Dalen Ficklin. Following each performance there will be photo opportunities with various characters from the play for $10, photos will be available that night for pick up.

“This play is a great way to give your holidays a lift,” said Elaine Hansen, director and choreographer of “Santa’s Workshop” and assistant professor at UVSC. “This is a great family event with energetic dancing, fabulous costumes and a wonderful set.”
