Rocky Anderson to Headline UVSC Environmental Ethics Conference
Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson will be the keynote speaker at the Utah Valley State College eighteenth annual Environmental Ethics Conference, April 7. Anderson will address the responsibility even small towns and cities have to the global community.
“Mayor Anderson has become a world-renowned expert on how seemingly small changes can significantly affect surrounding communities, states and even the country,” said Amanda Peterson, executive program coordinator for the UVSC Center for the Study of Ethics. “He is a leader in this field.”
The daylong conference, sponsored by the Center for the Study of Ethics, begins at 10 a.m. with Anderson’s remarks in the UVSC Sorensen Student Center Ragan Theater. The conference continues at 1 p.m. in the UVSC Library Room 243 with Omar Kadar, president and CEO of Planning and Learning Technologies, who will discuss President Bush’s environmental policies. Steven Zunes, chair of the peace and justice studies at the University of San Francisco, will address Middle East policy and social justice at 2:30 p.m. in the UVSC Library Room 243.
